Moda Building Blocks Quilt - BIG ONE

Massive quilt from Moda, with the blocks of various designs and sizes - and I totally enjoyed longarm quilting it for my new customer, Birgit. It looks fabulous in both solids and patterned fabrics. Hope it will be appreciated - the quilt is a great example of collaborative work between two creative people. ;)
It was not easy to take photos of it due to its size - hence I dusted off my blog and uploaded large pictures here for those who would want to see the details! I love to hover over the details when looking at other people's quilts. :-) Click on the photo to open it in the original size.
For the brave quilters who would consider tackling this piece, here is a link to this quilt pattern.

Pattern: Moda Building Blocks
Size: 84"x96"

QuiltCon 2017, Part I - Angela Walters quilts

Back from Savannah from Quilting Convention - and keen to share the pictures of all the fabulous quilts I saw there!

First part dedicated to my favourite longarm quilter Angela Walters, who was a featured speaker at QuiltCon2017 with her personal exibit, demonstrating some outstanding quilting work from Angela!

Some photos show only close-up details as this is what I wanted to highlight most - Angela's machine quilting talent. I was drooling over these for hours )))) All and more quilts are beautifully photographed and collected within a fab book 'Quilting is My Therapy - Behind the stitches with Angela Walters'

I was lucky to get into two of Angela's longarm quilting classes at the QuiltCon - she is as talented teacher as a quilter! Very inspiring and generous in sharing her stuff. I can go on for ages... :))

In next blog post I will cover the winning and my favourite quilts from this year QuiltCon. ;)

Epic Scenery Quilt - finally finished!

There are big quilts and Big Quilts. This is the latter!
While quilting this scenery quilt, I did think that this job would last forever))But, hey, I am happily done and showing it off!
To complement the amazing piecing, this quilt needed lots of custom quilting. Plus, it is really large!
Makes me proud though - a new standard achieved in my career as a professional longarm quilter.
Looking forward to see what customer thinks about it! :))

Beach Story Quilt

Looks like Instagram has taken over blogging - for me, at least. And this is no surprise, as with my busy life, every free minute is spent for quilting. :) Much quicker to take one picture of what you have made and post it on IG with a few words!
However, this quilt deserves good quality photos. I had spent so much time designing the quilting and then quilting it, that the work should be recorded and displayed to a the world.
I, too, sometimes quite like to go through good quality pictures of my previous works. Love the detail on close-up photos! :-))

The story of this quilt is short - I fell in love with the Story fabrics collection! It was created by Carrie Bloomston for Windham Fabrics and became one of my favourites of all times! In fact, I did not do much - just put together the 'sky', the 'beach huts' and the 'sea' parts with the cute pieced tumblers in the middle. So much space for creative quilting! Totally enjoyed the quilting part. :)
I loved my quilt so much that even sent it to this year Festival of Quilts in Birmingham! Main reason - for more people to see and enjoy it! As much as I enjoyed making it!

Have fun! :) xx
