Moda Building Blocks Quilt - BIG ONE

Massive quilt from Moda, with the blocks of various designs and sizes - and I totally enjoyed longarm quilting it for my new customer, Birgit. It looks fabulous in both solids and patterned fabrics. Hope it will be appreciated - the quilt is a great example of collaborative work between two creative people. ;)

It was not easy to take photos of it due to its size - hence I dusted off my blog and uploaded large pictures here for those who would want to see the details! I love to hover over the details when looking at other people's quilts. :-) Click on the photo to open it in the original size.

Star Wars quilt top

Решила сшить квилт для одного мальчика, Сашиного близкого приятеля. Мальчик очень серьезно болен... 

Игрушек у него полно, поэтому я подумала, что может стоит сшить ему такой квилт в стиле Звездных Войн! Мальчишки всех возрастов их просто обажают! 

Как выяснилось в процессе черчения схемы, мне не хватает синей ткани на фон... Купила два метра, а надо было три. Но так как зуд в руках уже пошел, то решила сшить хотя бы звезду - на нее то ткани у меня хватало :)) 

Довольна. Сошью весь топ - буду думать о стежке. Хочется чего-то особенного тоже. 

This is the centre of a quilt I am making for my son's very close friend. The boy is only 5 and is very unwell at the moment. So, I have decided to make him a quilt - Star Wars theme was an obvious choice, the boys of all ages just love Star Wars, don't they? :) 

The only thing, I have not ordered enough background fabric. But was so desparate to start! So here is the centre star - looks great!!! 

Once the top is finished, will have to think about quilting design - I wonder what would suit best here?? :)
